Justina (Tina) Anaya of Laredo, Texas, is selected winner due to her untiring efforts to contribute to the lives of the elderly. Tina volunteers in the South Texas Ombudsman Program and the Vida Buena Health Program. Residents at the Regent Care Center in Laredo, Texas, know Tina by name. She is always ready to listen, and is very good at helping new residents adjust to placement. Mrs. Anaya , although she is “...seventy years young,” is always available, regardless of the time of day or the weather. She comes to visit, reads to the residents, goes to doctor’s visits with them and accompanies them on outings. Mrs. Anaya is a very big asset to the Regent Care Center, which prompted her nomination as Forget-Me-Not Hero of the Year, State of Texas.
